Colleges Near The Beach

Hello! I am looking for a college that is very close to the beach/shore. Preferrably on the east coast. Any colleges would be helpful because i am having a hard time finding anything. Thankkkksss

There are a lot, but here's one not a lot of people think of, UNC-Wilmington is about 5 miles from Wrightsville Beach, NC.

please see the current "College Search" string "location of college" started by "wrangler1". There I have listed a number of candidate colleges off the top of my head. There certainly must be several more, in the SE alone

UC Santa Barbara

College of Charleston, UC Santa Cruz

U of South Carolina - Coastal Carolina. It is about 15 minutes from the beach and a lot of the kids who go to school there live in Myrtle Beach

There is another thread on this. People suggested beaches on Lake Michigan as well as the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. Eckerd College is right on the Gulf of Mexico.

University of California at San Diego.

There are so many scenic costal schools in the east....you might want to be more specific. That said, try these:

University of Miami, USF, Salve Regina, Christopher Newport, Flagler College, Eckerd, Roger Williams.

My niece lived at the beach while attending Flagler in St. Augustine, FL.

University of Miami (30 minutes, but it IS south beach)
Florida International U (also 30-35 minutes, but, dude, it is freakin south beach)

Monmouth, NJ

SUNY Stony Brook 5 minutes from West Meadow Beach, 30 minutes to Smith Point / Fire Island.

Hofstra 15 minutes to Jones Beach.

UCSD, UCSB, Pepperdine, Point Loma are on or parts of their campus' are litterely on the ocean. USD, USF, UC Santa Cruz are near the ocean, but not on it.

There's also SUNY Stony Brook - South Hampton. This is the first academic year after Long Island University closed its South Hampton campus. My understanding is that Stony Brook is investing a lot of money to refurbish and revamp the buildings.

The campus is on the southside of Route 27 with close access to the South Hampton beaches, and an easy drive to the other beaches of the Hamptons.

Northwestern. It owns two private beaches on campus!

University of Miami has a closer beach than South Beach. It's about 15-20 minutes to Key Biscayne beach.

New College of Florida, I believe.

Plenty of beaches in Madison, but for the most part the water is for sailing on and looking at not for going in.

Brother and his wife both went to Florida Tech in Melbourne - scheduled classes around prime beach time....
