hey, everyone. i am just seeking for some more colleges which offer full cost financial aid to international students. and they must have less selective admissions. // i know it may be a little difficult. but could anybody tell me some? send to:

I hope I don't sound mean, but "a little difficult" doesn't begin to cover it. There is no college, to the best of my recollection, that offers full cost financial aid to intels with "less selective admissions". The best you can hope is sometimes half-tuition if you're really stellar and/or merit. The ones that do offer full-rides to intels are the most selective schools.

.....then what are the less selective ones in the "most selective schools"? : )

I have applied to Cornell and Yale, but I am just having a shot. I don't think they are sure to admit me. so i am seeking for some other colleges. : )

What colleges are you applying to? I would like to help.
PS: I am also from mainland China, and have been in U.S. for 2.5 years.
Feel free to PM me.

thanks for those kind-hearted men! ask again: can anybody suggest some colleges that have a late deadline (i mean as late as Jan. 15 or later..) and with nice financial aid?

Kenyon has got a 1/15 deadline and I am an international student and was accepted and given an awesome financial aid package. I know of others who only need to pay around USD 4000 a year and are admitted to Kenyon. Kenyon is classified as "More Selective" in the USNews Ranking. Good Luck and all the best to you!

Other colleges that offers financial aid to Internationals and are less selective are colleges like Furman, Dickinson, Sarah Lawrence, Union and Skidmore. Be sure to check those out too!

Okay, so I used "selective" instead of "most selective". 30% acceptance rate is pretty low. But I checked their website. Last year they said it was 27% acceptance so...yeah...I'd say any school below 35% acceptance or something is pretty durn selective.

Dickinson's due February 1st. There's also Knox (not as great with finaid, but they still do give aid. Due Feb 1st), Beloit (I believe Jan 15th?), Grinnell jan15th, too.

sorry..i plan to study Computer Science or Computer Engineering..

hnnnnnn, Princeton.. i think i've missed the deadline.. and i am really not that good at so many essays (i've noticed that Princeton needs so many essays to be done!)

In fact i've already applied to some elite colleges like Yale and Cornell and JHU. I am now just asking for some "safe" schools. they should be easier to get in and offer nice financial aid to intls (better cover full cost)...: )

If you plan to study Computer Science or Computer Engineering, most liberal arts colleges do not offer those. That will really limit your options unless you do the "3-2" engineering and BA degrees I think. You should look at those big universities like Brandeis. I believe Harvey Mudd and Swarthmore have engineering programs however those schools are "Most selective" I think.

Yeah, I agree with Kjoodles that a great school need not be selective. Find a school that fits your personality. :)

yeah, i agree to you kenyon_10 . but now i haven't time to decide. i will have to make up my mind to apply to some more colleges in order to gain more chances of studying in the US... (in fact first of all i must be able to come to the US and then i will choose which college i should attend...as a result of lack of money.... ) i really don't wanna stay in mainland China to pursue my college education. //

Have you ever considered the National University of Singapore? It's a great University and it's very affordable through a combination of Tuition Grant (Substantial amount) and loans (interest free till graduation).
