Colleges offering full cost finaid to intls?

michigan aint got no aid for internationals.!!!
:-(

to kenyon_10

National University of Singapore...can i apply to it in the similar way with that to those US colleges? or just take a test and i will be admitted like those Chinese universities?

Can the scholarships cover the entire cost of attendence? my family couldn't offer my any of the cost. : )

i will check about NUSingapore..hmmm. wanna have a try...also, other LACs

i know a guy who did his undergrad in china, and got a full ride for his grad degree from UM

@elizabeth2005
do u refer to Michigan U?

also, i've heard that colleges in the US is more generous to give financial aid to those applicants who apply for the grad program...they have more choices such as TA...

here, i got some name of LACs: Colgate, Carleton, Middlebury. how to choose from them? they all seem to have full aid to intls. especially Carleton, it has finaid just for Asian applicants....

how to choose from them?

Research! Princeton Review will be a good help Students Review (just google this) will also help too, although the later is more subjective! Every college has got their own personality and it pays to research and know what kind of schools you are looking for. Personally, I like Carleton and Middlebury... although I find Middlebury too preppy for me. Carleton, or generally colleges in the midwest are less preppy, more down to earth IMO.

For NUS, there's this thing called the tuition grant which decrease your tuition fees dramatically. But you need to serve the Singapore government for 3 years upon graduation. The rest can be covered with interest free loans till graduation. Check out www.nus.edu.sg for more information! Ann Arbor does not offer financial aid for internationals.

here, i've just checked to find that there are a special scholarship for chinese applicant at NUS ---The OCBC International Undergraduate Scholarship..and the scholarship is also available in Nayang Tech...how Nayang Tech compared to NUS?

yeah, i like living outside China...hehe

what does "Ann Arbor" mean?

A lot of state universities have multiple campuses in different cities, but usually one of them is the main campus. Each campus has its own admissions criteria and operations. The main campus for University of Michigan is in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I would say that NUS is better than NTU in terms of the quality of students NUS takes in. But then NTU is not bad too, and it's ranked quite high in Asia. So both universities are fine IMO.

@dufus3709

thanks for explanation. : )

@kenyon_10

i see. but both NUS and NTU need we Chinese applicants to taken additional tests before admission..also, they require me to take the College Entrance Exam of China, known as Gaokao..hmmm..that is really an aweful sort of exam!

Yeah, I think so. But a reasonable score on your Gaokao can lead you to getting a full ride at NUS/ NTU I think!

hmmmm...have a DEEP think.

How competitive can the admission be?

they say that i will need to send in the basic information thru the website and they will mail me more materials...do they need essays, ECs or something? (in china, we will only need to take the Gaokao.: ) )

university of miami, fiu also offers a lot of aid, they have an exchange preogram or something

UMiami seemed to have passed the deadline....well, can the aid cover the full cost of attendance international?

not yet i don't think

thanks all the same. : )

Washington & Lee is amusing. in the main Fin Aid page it writes it is beyong their resource if intls need full cost aid... but in the Fin Aid page for Intls it writes it does give comprehensive cost aid to intls...
