Colleges offering glass blowing?

I would like to major in art with emphasis on glass and I was wondering what the top art institutes/colleges offering glass would be.

RISD is one.

Technical (i.e., scientific) or artistic glassblowing? The choice matters…

Alfred University (NY)

[School of Art and Design at Alfred University](http://art.alfred.edu/divisions_concentrations/sculpture_dimensional/hot-glass.html)

For glass, some excellent programs exist at Alfred U (via the NY State College of Ceramics), the Rochester Institute of Technology, RISD, California College of the Arts, Virginia Commonwealth, and Ohio State U. Those are for artistic glassblowing. I don’t know their rep in scientific glassblowing.

tulane does

Centre is well-known for its glass program.

Alfred University

Why mess around?
Abate Zanetti school in Murano (Venice), Italy

[International Glass Center | Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti](http://www.abatezanetti.it/)

i was looking for schools in Italy but to no avail. im not sure what the difference between technical and artistic would be but I am fairly certain I want artistic.

In terms of Italian artists…Lino Tagliapietra, perhaps the world’s greatest glassblower, has lectured several times at Centre in the past. (If you haven’t heard of him, he taught Dale Chihuly.)

Centre College?
