I’m a Sophomore in high school looking for a career in writing, more specifically screenwriting. I had anxiety really bad in the past, and still sometimes now, and this has had a negative effect on my grades as I missed a lot of school, although this is steadily improving. I am looking for the best college considering my situation, knowing it’s very unlikely I can get accepted in a college like USC for example. There is a great community college in my area (upstate NY) and I am open to attending this community college for a year. If I did well there, would that help me get accepted into a better 4 year college? If I chose to go straight to a 4 yr school, which schools might be my best option? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Columbia College Chicago has open admissions, and has very good programs in both those areas. Can you afford a private college?
