For most schools, A is from 90-100. But at some schools, A is from 93-100, and surprisingly, at some schools, A is from 80-100. When colleges recalculate GPA, do they use the 90-100 scale or the high school’s specific scale?
<p>Most of the top colleges do recalculate GPAs, and when a GPA is recalculated, it's put into a form specific to the college. They may want to put everyone's gpa on a 4.0 scale according to their own guidelines for 4.0s and 3.0s etc. Or they may want to give you a score out of 50, or out of 100. Basically, it's arbitrary the way they decide to recalculate your score, but either way, whatever letter grade your high school decided to give you would be irrelevant (unless they ONLY provide a letter grade...)</p>
