Colleges similar to Eckerd?

Can anyone think of any Colleges that are similar to Eckerd in size, atmosphere, and weather-but with a better reputation? The college must have a undergrad major of marine biology, but that's my only real requirement. Thanks!

eckerd has a decent reputation if rep is the only reason i say you should apply.

new college of florida i think is better known academically, and it's in florida as well.

Also look at Rollins. A couple of other schools to check out are College of Charleston and UNC Wilmington. They are both medium size schools.

If you are willing to consider the West Coast, you might want to look at Pepperdine. It only has a general biology major, but students can emphasize marine biology and participate in marine biology research. Here is a link to a discussion of marine biology on the school's website:

Pepperdine University - Seaver College - Natural Science Division

New College of Florida, Flagler College

Flaglar doesn't have an biology majors...atleast it didn't last time I looked. If you're thinking about applying to New College I highly reccomend visiting, it's definitely not the right college for everyone.

definitely check out college of charleston
university of miami, great marine bio but its much larger (~10,000 undergrad)
university of san diego
university of tampa

I've heard good things about U of Tampa.

Rollins might be a good choice.
