Colleges still accepting applications; some even have financial aid!

Space Availability Survey Results 2011

And I'll put in a plug for the first school on the list, Agnes Scott College in Atlanta. It's in Colleges that Change Lives, the school claims to give good financial aid, it is diverse (except for guys: it's all women!), and I know a faculty member who is an absolute gem!

^^^^

How do you know which schools would still have good FA at THIS POINT???

The school says it still has financial aid available; as for the “goodness” of the aid, I’m speaking generally.

If anyone can copy that list and keep it somewhere for reference, please do as it disappears after a period and is inaccessible. I tried to get last year’s and could not.

Very scary to me, because some excellent schools are on that list, particularly Catholic colleges. But for those kids who are not happy with their choices, the pickings are still quite good.

There are some schools that have limited financial aid and that is so indicated. A strong student who is unhappy with safety schools picked at random and finding those are he choices, now has some additional choices and may even be able to negotiate some merit money.

Here is access, as a google doc:

Thanks. I printed it out. This year, I wanted last years info and couldn’t find it anywhere. It’s helpful for transfer info and safety school planning for the next year.

The NACAC list, according to their website, will be available until July 1.

Also, check back as it seemed to me that a few years ago at least one school was added on later (I did not see it on the original survey). It seemed to be added a couple of weeks later. I did double check against the original list just because my son was applying to this school, so I was interested. This school is not on the survey now. Just for fun, I plan to check to see if it shows up on the list in a few weeks.
