Colleges that do not require foreign language for a degree?

Anyone know of a comprehensive list of colleges that do not require their students to take a foreign langauge to graduate? (I am talking about foreign language in college, not as an admissions requirement).
If not, any suggestion for chasiung this down more easily than calling each college's admissions office/visiting each website? Even when I do that, the answers I find are pretty incomplete, inconclusive. Thanks.

i am attending the university of georgia in the fall (majoring prebusiness as of now) and i do not have to take any foreign language classes.

University of Rochester has no foreign language requirement.

I think a lot don't
My oldest didn't have to take a language at Reed & a friends daughter didn't have to take one at Mt Holyoke.
Some schools don't even have distribution requirements- jsut required classes in your major.

just a question... why don't you want to take a foreign language in college?

EmeraldK is correct, many colleges don't require a foreign lang or exempt LD student from the lang req. You'll have to check the college catalogue or the web site (seach w/ "general education" or "distribution req" or "graduation req").

NB - Some colleges (like Colorado College) state that exemption is automatic w/ particular diagnoses; others say that exemption or substitution is possible, depending upon documentation and other factors which are assessed after enrollment. The post-enrollment assessment could be a problem if a student counts on the waiver, but is the exemption, waiver or substitution is denied. (D visited and interviewed only at colleges w/o foreign lang req or thoses w/ automatic exemptions.)

My D is substituting Sign Language for Foreign Language Requirement. She's a college sophmore. ASL seems easier for her with her dyslexia.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute does not have a foreign languages requirement.

Johns Hopkins University does not require foreign language for most majors. Of course, there are some areas of studies like International Relations where you are required to take foreign language.

I believe most schools have similar requirements, you should be able to find specific requirements for the schools you are interested in.

Some colleges at UCSD, actually i only know about Earl Warren College, don't have to take foreign languages.

Wesleyan does not require a foreign language to receive a degree, though I believe it is required to graduate with honors.

Brand_182: There are no language requirements whatsoever at Wesleyan, even for honors.

As far as Ive read I wont be require to take foreign languages when I attend NAU up in Flagstaff AZ in a few years after I recieve my associates (which is what I am currently working on) ...Im majoring in Business and Child Development with a Minor in Business Management and Certificates in Photography and Small Business Entrepreneurship if that helps at all.

Brown does not have a language requirement but does require language study of their applicants.
