What are some good colleges that don't require them?

There is a list on this board. Click Search and try ‘test optional’ as a search term.

Nationwide, most schools don’t require SAT Subject tests - even more if you take the ACT. What is your definition of a “good” school?

Ivies, most of the top 10 universities, and many of the top 15 LACs require them.

I would not search for “test optional”. That will give you schools where you don’t have to submit the SAT or ACT.

If you get this year’s copy of the Fiske Guide to Colleges (or last year’s as this info isn’t likely to change too much), it says at the end of the description of each college whether they are required. I would verify on the website late this summer/early next fall to be sure they haven’t changed what they need, but that would be a quick way to check out a lot of schools.

For all of the common app schools, info is available here

For a current list, see [The National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest](http://www.fairtest.org/)

If your issue is simply with the SAT, and not with testing in general, try the ACT.

Thank you for the replies and the links!

My definition of a “good” school would be Ivies, Northwestern, etc. I’m not looking into the ACT at all - just the SAT. I’ve already taken the SAT, but I’m on the fence about the subject tests because I might only be able to take 1 for reasons.

If it helps, I’m doing the A Levels (3 subjects).
