Yes. You may defer admission for one or two years with the approval of the dean of undergraduate admissions. Freshmen who have deferred their admission must begin their studies in the fall semester upon their return.</p>
<p>The purpose of deferral is to allow students to take time off for travel, work, volunteer, or family commitments. Deferrals are not granted for the purpose of studying at another institution.</p>
<p>Send your written request for a deferral along with your Candidate Reply Form and enrollment deposit to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Attn: Missy Kirby, no later than May 1. Deferrals are considered on an individual basis.
