Colleges that have a Mandarin language course?

Hi, I'm a highschool senior looking to expand her really tiny college list. I'm interested in learning Mandarin in college, although I don't think it should be a requisite as many colleges don't have mandarin courses. Although I've been wondering which do- and if you know any Absolutely Stellar courses in certain universities do tell! Recently I've checked the Brown website, and am disappointed that they do not offer a Mandarin learning course- right?

Thanks!

Brown absolutely has courses in Mandarin Chinese. In fact, pretty much every college these days offers Chinese classes.

Tons of colleges these days offer Mandarin Chinese.

Check out Middlebury College in Vermont.

Fordham at Lincoln Center offers Mandarin.

U-M offers it in two tracks–one for those who are learning it for the first time, and one for those whose families speak Chinese. I’m pretty sure you will be able to find plenty of colleges to choose from!

Pretty much every school in the US has mandarin Chinese courses.

true. now that China is a hotspot of big business, mandarin is everywhere. check out Dartmouth’s language program and Language Study Abroad programs if you’re seriously considering focusing on Chinese in college.

Middlebury has a CV Starr-Middlebury School in China (Hangzhou, China).

lots of schools offer Chinese language as a major. a simple search on collegeboard.com or princetonreview.com will point them out

The best program I’ve seen recently is at Cornell. Definitely worth a look if you have a serious interest.

Just to reinforce: the vast majority of colleges will have Mandarin courses. Maybe you couldn’t find them on Brown’s website because you searched for ‘Mandarin’ instead of ‘Chinese’?
