colleges that lack frats/sororities?

I'm looking for some of those, thanks.

williams has banned frats..

Williams, ? Amherst, Wheaton are the ones that come to mind......LAC's usually don't. Some of them used to and decided to get rid of them. Not sure about the Claremonts, Pomona, etc. There are also colleges that have them but the whole Greek thing isn't a big deal, with a minority of students participating. You might want to take a look at them.

It would take forever to list the colleges that don't have Greek life, just as it would take forever to list the colleges that do. Can you narrow this down to general location, type of college, etc? Or if you are interested in specific colleges, check their websites. Be aware that some colleges do not have national fraternities and sororities but do have local ones (fraternities/sororities not affiliated with a national organization).

LOTS of LAC's have fraternities and sororities. The number and significance of influence of Greeks on campus culture differs widely. You can get some sense of this information in the major college guides.

rice.............................

Oberlin has no greek system.

Same with the University of Notre Dame

Bowdoin, Haverford

lame university

haha..lame university, well that's just not true! I go to kenyon now and the frats drive me crazy. It's just wheer awkward guys meet to pay for friends that will circle them while they group-hit on girls.
Anyway, sorry to be so broad. I'm looking for a school, preferably not a LAC, near or in a city--upper prestige. Right now, I'm concentrating on NYU, Columbia, Brown, Stanford, Rice, and Wesleyan as favorites. But I'm also open to schools that aren't as hard to get into since I need some safeties. Thanks guys!

You can say lots of things about frats but they tend to filter out the socially awkward.

They may filter out the "socially awkward" but they also encourage drinking, elitism, and peer pressure

So, you have a problem with that? It can be good preparation for the business world.

ha..... santa clara university

BostonCollege

Cooper Union. I heard they have a "frat" but its a joke. Basically, der is none according to my sources

Additionally, there are many, many colleges where frats and sorority members make up a tiny percentage of the school population. (And some of the colleges on the above list have "social clubs" that in a sense fill some of the roles of frats/sororities)

Come on guys...the Greek scene is what college is all about!
