I learnt about this recently. Please share what you know about this. I think Cornell's one.

I think most of the colleges want it through CB....

98% want it through CB and other lowest tier universities dont.

If your scores are part of your official high school transcript, some upper tier school accept them

Yeah, but what's wrong about sending the official score report?

And what if I wanna apply to more than 8 schools?

pay more, of course! I think the 8 schools "restriction" is only for when you actually register to take the test. Collegeboard won't turn down any chance to make money~ I think there's a link to "send additional score reports" somewhere.

So, basically if i'm applying to 8-10 schools i pay CB an extra $40-50 just to send scores?
CommonApp should have some sort of a system whereby we send CommonApp the official score and all universities we apply to through CommonApp get it.

^...Nice suggestion..:)..

I've seen people talk about their "superscore" which is their best combined score, meaning they have taken the sat more than once. do the majority of colleges accept this "superscore"? Or do they require you to send the grades you got in a single sitting?

For the SATs, you can't just send the scores you got in a single sitting. College Board sends all the SAT I and SAT IIs that you've taken (up to a total of 6 of each type of test) beginning in 9th grade. Colleges that superscore do that calculation themselves.
