Which colleges specifically require you to have two recommendation letters from a math/science teacher and a social studies/English teacher?

I know Chicago is one.

Isn't Princeton one?

We need to create a list.

Princeton (according to their website) requires two letters of recommendation, both in different subject areas.

My question (to add on to yours) is what qualifies as a 'subject area'. Is English one subject area, and a foreign language another? Or is it as you mentioned: math/science and english/social studies/foreign language?

I think English and foreign language are different.

I'm having a bit of trouble because I want my art teacher to write one.

Art teachers are often only supplementary recommendations. Most schools want recommendations in academic subjects (English, math, social sciences/history, science, foreign language). Unless of course you're looking at art schools.

If you're interested in U Chicago, the college rep for the university on this forum, Libby Pearson, said that the English/Social Studies rec CANNOT come from a foreign language teacher.

Bummer, right? I was going to get one from my French teacher. I guess I can't.
