<p>Of course, school by school comparisons hide the very important information about the mix of majors that students take at each school.</p>

<p>I also have to imagine that parental connections/contacts come into play - at least for the first job. I don’t think it is too much of a stretch to say that the parents of students at Princeton, Harvard, etc. are themselves a well-educated bunch - with great jobs and connections. They help their offspring get prestigious internships - have the contacts to open doors for first jobs after graduation, etc. While I’m sure some college grads get jobs from simply applying to ads posted online or on the company website - networking is generally the way to go.</p>
