<p>My daughter is going to be applying to Miami of Ohio. She is not from Ohio and is not set on going to school in Ohio, but she and all in our family just love everything we have seen of the school. We like the looks, we like the kids we have met from their and how happy they are with the school, we like the way the sororities are organized there, and she stands a decent chance of being admitted - it's about the right level of admission difficulty for her - a good match.
Here is the question: She obvioulsy needs other schools on her application list. For you folks who go to Miami or are pointed there, what other schools appeal to you in the same ways as Miami. Smaller is OK. (Miami is in fact a bit larger than ideal for us.) Thanks much for your suggestions.</p>
<p>My D was accepted to Miami of Ohio and chose not to go b/c it's in Ohio. ( a bit too far away from home). She just finished her first year at Villanova. The other schools on her list were: Lafayette, Lehigh, BC, Tufts, UCONN, RPI and Holy Cross. If you have any questions, please ask!!!</p>
<p>From a professorial perspective, academically and socially, Lafayette, Lehigh, Colgate, Bucknell, Wake Forest, Boston College and William and Mary come to mind as quite similar to Miami.</p>
<p>Perhaps also Rhodes and Tufts as reaches.</p>

<p>Davidson reminded us of Miami, in terms of campus. Though much smaller.</p>
<p>D's final decision came down to Miami and Furman - Miami gave her more money, so they won. But when we were doing a spread sheet to compare the two schools, it was pretty interesting how similar they were. Stats were similar, M/F ratio the same, nice campuses (Furman is gorgeous!) D's focus is music and languages - those were also comparable. Similarities may be fewer if you are more interested in business or something - I don't know.</p>
<p>My D liked Miami, other schools she has visited and found similarities, Lehigh, Bucknell and Lafayette. I also think that Denison is worth a look. Easier to get into, Wittenburg.</p>
