For complicated reasons I won't go into now, need to know of any colleges or universities like this.

Do any parents have kids attending a school that meets this criterion?

Do any parents have kids attending a school that meets this criterion?

Most of the UCs start well into September (with the exception of Berkeley) with UC Davis and I think UCLA starting the last week of September.

U of Oregon doesn't start until late September.

Stanford starts at the end of September. So does Northwestern, I think, and other schools that are on quarter system.

Swarthmore starts usually at the very beginning of September.

I think Carleton starts later. I believe they are on the trimester system.

Ohio State Univ: Sept. 24

Are you asking for the "regular" start date or the beginning of frosh orientation?

Johns Hopkins University

First day of classes Fall 2008: September 4

However, Orientation for all new students is August 29-September 3

University of Cincinnati. And I may be wrong but public universities in the state of Michigan start the Tuesday after Labor Day (at least that was the case last year).

The University of Chicago usually starts classes the last Monday in September. First-year and transfer-student orientation begins nine days before that.

U Penn New Students Sept 2, Classes Sept 3 2008. I believe Northwestern, Princeton, and Stanford start after the first. Perhaps 2 to 3 weeks in.

I believe Northwestern, Harvard, Stanford, and Dartmouth also have late starts, but you'll want to double-check. New England schools are least likely to begin late; in general, the farther west you go, the more schools you'll find on the trimester/quarter system, which all tend to start late.

Northwestern's first day of classes is usually around the 25th of September. Dartmouth, Princeton also start around then.

Union College starts late. University of Rochester starts classes after Labor Day.

Oregon State has a late start. September 24ish

as Mentioned above look for schools on the quarter system

I think University of Washington starts late.

Western Washington University, in Bellingham, WA, begins Sept. 26th. Great school!

Santa Clara University...mid September (around the 17th). As noted, most schools on the quarter system have these later starting dates.

Seattle Pacific

Even classes at Boston University start the week after Labor Day. That is always after Sept 1.
