<p>This should help with Duke’s Forbes ranking (15 last year) since that makes up 15% of it. 
While I think Duke’s professors are really great, I find this sort of ranking system not very accurate to gauge student satisfaction, particularly when many universities have their own internal assessment system only available to students (as Duke has). Having said that, doesn’t hurt to have some good press.</p>

<p>And Forbes may break into the top 10 among college ranking systems. But we’ll take the good press and worry about the flaws later.</p>
<p>Dangit - I am 28 rankings behind the most-ranked person at Duke… Gonna have to work on that, because list placement is EVERYTHING :-D</p>
<p>Fine, but as bluedog first suggested, not especially consequential. These things come and go, ratings are often gamed, results are inconsistent, wide annual variance are largely nonsense, however it is nice to be #1.</p>
<p>I’m not usually on this forum and I hate to burst anyone’s bubble. Duke has not been in the top 25 list of Rate my professor best list in any of the past 4 years. If you go to Rate my professor yearly list and look, it appears that many schools are on one year and gone the next.</p>
<p>Your point? Everyone has already acknowledged that they all take these things with a grain of salt.</p>
<p>My point? That the US news and world reports is also subjective but Duke is on the top ten list every year. That is at least somewhat meaningful. </p>
<p>The rate my professor list makes no sense. What, those same wonderful Duke professors were so bad the last 4 years that Duke couldn’t even make it to the top 25 list. It only shows that 2013 Duke students were busy posting positive reports.</p>
<p>Lakemom - Whether or not you believe list makes any sense, it is obviously better to be at the top of it than anywhere else.</p>
