I am looking for a nice college, Not too big, that has a good marching band and a nice football stadium to play in to make it an even better experience. But It Has to offer a music education program. Thanks you Very much. NOTE: The Band does Not have to Be GIANT AND AMAZING. Just a nice size.

Lots of big public universities, especially in the South.

The HBCUs are notorious for having amazing marching bands, but the colleges most likely don’t have the prestige you’re looking for.

You might also want to post this question in the Music Majors forum.

Thank You, I am New To CC, And not to sure how to work it to well. Sooo How do i get there may i ask u.

Those are Pretty Big but thank you very much. :D

oh i see u gave me a link… thanks

Can you tell us more? Will you be a music major?

Do you have a budget or will your family pay the whole costs for wherever you go?

Most/all of the schools listed are OOS publics, so they’re not going to give great need based aid. However, a few may give you merit based aid, if you need it and have the right stats.

Baylor University is not huge and I believe it has a marching band and I believe, a music education program.

Furman is a top 50 liberal arts college (larger than most; about 2700) with an excellent music school and a nice marching band. It, Gettysburg and Wooster are the only national-caliber LACs that I know of which have good bands, and Furman would have the most prominent music program of the three.

Yes i would be a music major and my grandfather is willing to pay all costs

HBCUs and pretty much any D1 school where football is the biggest sport on campus.

Nothing beats a game at Ohio State in Columbus, but it is a huge school.

Ohio University in Athens has always had a good marching band, and their football team has been pretty good the last few years.

Syracuse University (NY)

Any Big 10 school.

BYU in Provo, Utah has amazing music programs and incredible marching band, it is Mormon and way out west, and highly selective, but check it out.

University of Michigan!

Notre Dame is smaller in size than the state U’s and has a great marching band, a great stadium, and a music major.

What do you consider to be an adequate football stadium? Also, I’m guessing that you want a school where students actually “pack the stadium”, right? You don’t want to perform to empty seats, right?

What are your test scores and GPA? What is your budget?

3.59 GPA and i am a junior with A,B Average grades. (GPA WILL PROBABLY RISE).I am Not aware of the budget because My family members have been saving every since i was little for my cousins and I. All I know is that he is they are willing to pay for whatever college is right for me. I am not looking for a giant college like Penn State or Michigan. my TOPS of the amount of Students is about 17-20,000. the stadium doesn’t have to be packed entirely. i would just like to march on to the field feeling great, aiming horn high in the stands, Playing with a nice group of musicians. the only thing is that maybe a college that you dont have to audition for the the marching band would be good because i dont want to go there just for the band program and not get into my favorite ensemble. The stadium doesnt have to be a dome.
