Thought I'd post this link again as the 2010 NACAC Space Availability list is now populated. In case some parents/students are now finding their choices to be unaffordable, it appears that many schools still have FA available at this time. The list dwindled fairly quickly last year, so now would be the time to get those last apps in!

I wonder how this list gets made because I know that UAH is still taking apps. I know that other schools are, too, that aren’t on that list. Miss St is still taking apps.

Maybe if a school is only accepting apps for higher stats kids, they wouldn’t be on the list?

Anyway, if a school is not on this list, don’t assume that they won’t accept an app. Email the admissions director and ask - include your stats. If your stats are desirable, some schools will make an exception.

I’m surprised it is up already since May 1 is the deadline for acceptees to accept. So maybe the list will grow next week. It is a good list for 2011 applicants to save (it won’t be posted all year) if they get nervous in the middle of the application process and want more safety schools.

Yes, I’m sure it’s not an all-inclusive list. My understanding is that the schools, who are NACAC members, add themselves to the list and will edit/remove their listings as they fill their rosters.

Muffy, I’m guessing many of these are rolling admission schools and they have a pretty good handle on who is coming and who isn’t before May 1. Number 1 went to a rolling admission college and he’d already deposited and registered for classes long before May 1. But agree that the list is not all-inclusive. There are a couple of lower tier privates that are still calling my son and probably some state directionals that have room and can expand and would continue to take applications.
