I was hoping for colleges in California, like UC's or USC?
Colleges that have good engineering courses.

Most schools with a degree program in CS should have a software engineering course in the CS department. Generally, you don’t need more than one; for industry software jobs, other courses are also important, such as operating systems, algorithms, networks, databases, and security.

Some schools like SJSU have a software engineering major that is similar to the CS major but includes more than one software engineering course. That is typically not necessary (since many of the methods beyond the base concepts end up being specific to the organization), though SJSU’s software engineering major is significantly easier to get admitted to than its CS major if you are concerned about whether you can get admitted to the CS major.

Do UC’s have them?

By “them”, do you mean a course, or a major?

Look in the course catalogs to see if the course exists.
