Colleges with strong studio art for B+ student

Can anyone suggest a college or small university (up to 5-6,000 students) with a strong art department for my daughter, who is a B+ student? An East Asian languages program is a plus.

Skidmore, Hamilton, Conn College, Kenyon, Smith. Maybe Haverford, Vassar.

GPA is not the only factor at play. If B+ means half A’s, half B’s, it depends on what her strengths are (aside from studio art). Other factors are course rigor, test scores, class rank, EC involvement, diversity of any type – ethnic, economic, geographic.

B+ can be parlayed to acceptance at the more selective schools if there’s strength in other areas.

Are you trying to stay in a certain area of the country? Do you have a financial limit on COA?

Both Coe College in Iowa and St. Olaf in Minnesota have art and east asian studies.

Carroll University in Wisconsin is a good choice for art but it does not offer east asian studies.

Earlham College in Indiana offers the art major, plus programs in both Japanese language and Japanese studies: [Earlham College | Japan at Earlham](http://www.earlham.edu/~jpnstudies/content/study-abroad/)

Lewis and Clark in Portland OR, Denison in Granville OH
