Colleges with the Best Dorms?

Yeah, they’re on the list for dorms like palaces, but he had an awful experience. I think it just depends on the hall.

Brown seemed to have nice dorms, at least the best out of the handful of colleges I’ve visited.

Holy Cross dorms are terrible. Tiny, and the entire hall smelt horrible. I could never imagine myself spending a night, let alone living there.

^lol the freshman dorm I visited at Brown was horrible…i guess that doesn’t apply to all dorms at Brown

Compared to the other schools I visited, Vanderbilt’s seemed huge! I love the idea of the Commons too–almost like Rice’s residential colleges, and all remodeled as of 2008. Nice, spacious, clean, and fun common rooms. As well as a kitchen on the ground floor of each.

A couple of the older dorms at HC are not the greatest and typically freshmen get them but they also do have brand new 4 suite apartments which typically go to upperclassmen. You will find this at most colleges.

Elsewhere on this site, in the rankings section, there is a big table with a click-sortable column for “campus housing”. It’s the “college ratings comparison chart” created with data from another college selection site.

Brown’s dorms routinely get bashed on CC. I wonder if Emma Watson will get dumpy room and an annoying roommate.

I loved Smith’s and bryn Mawr’s

Pierre: I can corroborate NuclearPakistan’s statement. All of the NYU dorms are very very nice, except for maybe Weinstein. They’re very spacious and equipped with bathrooms / showers. Two of the freshman dorms and all of the upperclassmen dorms have kitchens as well. With nice dorms, of course, comes the need to clean and stuff. But of anyone, NYU students are well aware that no one’s going to be holding their hand through college. So those who complain about roaches only have themselves to blame.

Yale has really nice dorms, or well suites. I mean come on, just look take a look at Branford. Amherst had really nice typical dorms. I’ve been to Wellesley, Harvard, Brown, Penn, Swarthmore, Bryn Mawr, Notre Dame (the worst) and lots of other schools and I really felt they had nothing on Yale’s.
