Colleges with vibrant writing cultures?

As an avid writer, I’m currently searching for schools with a vibrant writing community / culture.

It’s always difficult to create a metric for something creative, but I’d like to know about unofficial writing groups, writers’ communities, workshops (even for non-creative writing students), publications, spoken word poetry events, etc at different schools across the US, particularly in the East Coast. If people could describe what the writing scene at their schools (or tentative schools) is like, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

It’s not East Coast, but the University of Iowa is renowned for its creative writing program.

Here are a few, kindly compiled by the Kelly Writers House at Penn.
