Colleges within my reach?

I've taken the SAT once (plan to take it again in May), and I didn't do as well as I'd hoped (1840). I've also taken the ACT and scored quite a bit better (with a composite of 29). I'll probably take the ACT again in the fall (as it appears to be easier for me). I'm a straight-A student at a very competitive high school, and upon graduation I'll have taken a total of 6 AP classes (in my junior and senior years). Everyone says that colleges place the most importance on your high school course load and transcript, but I'm worried that my standardized test scores will hinder my ability to get into some really great schools.

Please help!

Im in the same boat as you. My damn SAT scores are hurting my cause. Just try and do well on your next ACT and hope for the best. If the top schools dont accept a quality candidate like yourself because you dont do well when it comes to random knowledge on a standardized test then screw um.
