colleges look at much moe than simply grades. they look at your essays, extracurricular activities, leadership, community service, and basically, what kind of contribution you will be making to their school. best of luck though!

My understanding is that the University of California system places a greater weight on GPA than on standardized test scores. Student “B”, therefore, would be the more likely to be admitted. Both students probably will be admitted due to outstanding qualifications. With respect to SAT I scores, the key is to get a 680 or higher in math and critical reading.

I have no idea. A has a lower Gpa slightly, but he was alot more passionate about taking advanced stuff. Your SAT’s are equal. A has good SAT I. B has Good SAT II. All their scores are awesome.

You guys are very very close and almost equal, but probably student B would have an advantage cuz of the High SAT II’s, in science. But if his CR score is below like a 680, then student A would win.

I agree with icy9ff8 in that the UC systems look almost directly at grades (GPA and SAT) rather than ECs or APs. However, private institutions are a WHOLE different story.

Actually, I just noticed your SAT I is a lot higher, so I might say you break even, with you being at the better end of the stick (just a little).
