Hey guys,
I have a question. I applied to Dartmouth this year and I wasn't expecting to get accepted because it's such a selective school. However, they keep emailing me about financial aid (even though I didn't apply for FA) and the Dartmouth ROTC officer contacted me and it's almost March so I was wondering if that's a sign I'll be accepted? Do they knock off the applicants they have already decided will not get accepted off their email/mail list?

Sorry, but I don’t think that means anything Fin aid info and reminders get sent to anyone who applied and indicated they want to apply for aid.

It depends. Shortly before decisions came out–maybe a week or two?–we received an inquiry for more info from the FA people, and S was accepted. Others have reported something similar here: it seems to happen when they are putting together the FA packages for people who have been accepted.

I don’t recall anyone else mentioning being contacted by a ROTC officer, OR receiving routine email reminders from FA. Perhaps you can find out if other people have gotten them.

Good luck, in any case.

I don’t believe this means anything… I’ve received lots of correspondence from schools I applied to, and all indications point to this being standard procedure. Just my two cents.
