I've begun applying to schools and so far I only have three schools that I am truly looking at I want to add maybe two or three more. So far I am applying to UNC (in-state), Miami U, and The Ohio State University (I would do honors at Ohio State and Miami). My GPA is a 4.2 while taking AP and honors courses. I go to a rigorous private school with a great reputation. I have a 34 on my ACT (33 English, 34 Math, 36 Reading, 34 Science, 9 on the essay). So far on my three AP Exams I got all 5s (US History, Lang and Comp, Calc AB). I have played baseball very competitively (was going to play in college before I decided against it), am an editor on the school newspaper, NHS and Spanish NHS, Sunday School Teacher, have a job at a sandwich shop, and I tutor pretty regularly. I can go pretty much anywhere except for the west coast. Price is a factor, if I can keep it below 25k a year with scholarships that'd be awesome. I want to do greek life so that is a definite plus. I am also pretty conservative but a really liberal campus would not be a problem.
Any suggestions would be awesome.
Thanks!!!

Look here for some great merit options: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships.html

Thanks that was really helpful!
I also want to add a reach school for me onto there, regardless of financial situation.

Take a look at Washington University of St. Louis. Great engineering, greek life, potential for scholarships, nice suburban location near a city, decent weather. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/washington-university-st-louis/1151745-how-frequent-do-full-ride-merit-scholarship-occur-washu.html

You need to determine what your family can afford to pay and what the colleges expect them to pay. If you don’t qualify for much FA, then trying to get enough merit scholarships to bring the cost under 25K will be tough, especially for private schools. That might affect the range of schools you apply to. So you need to start with that info…
What do you intend to major in?

Hmmm…why did I think you wanted engineering? Late night OP blur taking it’s toll.

And yes, the financial question is the critical one. No school is a good fit if you can’t afford it without going into a lot of debt.

My parents would like for it to be under 25k… if it was the best match then they would make an exception. And I plan on majoring in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, etc. Something along those lines. Not interested enough in science to consider engineering lol. Also I’ve heard of some flagship universities giving out a few tuition waivers to out of state students… would I have the stats to qualify for one of those at Ohio State?
Thanks for all of the responses!

Look into the Emory Scholars program. It’s competitive, but if you wanted a reach scholarship and you want to do something in the business world, Emory is a great choice

It looks like you’re more than competitive for the OSU Buckeye Scholarship which brings OOS to IS rates.
