Colleges

hey guys! So I was wondering if y’all could help me find some more colleges. Ill tell yea a little about myself. So I have a 4.3-4.4 (5.0 scale) & a 4.0 (4.0 scale) & I got a 34 on my ACT. I do a lot of extra curricular activities including riding horses (9 hours a week), being the VP & CoFounder of a charity club at my school, volunteering at leaps & bounds (where I help those w special needs ride horses), & I also volunteer at a hospital. I want to be a nurse when Im older so its important to me that I go to a school w a good nursing program (or Ill major in biology if they don’t have a nursing major). I absolutely love helping people & I always have Jesus in my heart (Im catholic) so its important to me that I go to school w a bunch of friendly nice people. Also I am a girl so it is important to me that I go to a school w cute nice boys. Im more the relationship type of girl instead of the hookup type so I wanna go some where, where it’s not all about hookups. I want a school with good guys. I also want to join a sorority so its important that a school has greek life. Some schools I really like are UNC, Virginia, WakeForest, Vanderbilt, GeorgeTown, CalPoly, Villanova, & Notre Dame. My problem is that most of these schools are reaches so I need y’all help to find more target schools (schools I have a good chance of getting into to). Thanks so much!

1 question: How much can you and your family afford? What is your Home State?

My home state is California & my Grandma is helping pay for my tuition so money is not an issue

If you are interested in a BSN program, I would consider looking at direct admit schools for nursing. For target schools, look at UCI/UCLA and SDSU would make a good safety. All have very good direct admit nursing programs and UCLA/SDSU would fit your need for Greek Life. Cal Poly SLO is a great school, does not have a nursing program.

Villanova is Catholic, has a great nursing program, has very constructive Greek life, its in a great area with other good schools and its not far from the Philly airport. My best friend’s daughter is a senior in the nursing program and is working at a hospital in Paoli this summer. Last summer she worked in Guatemala at a children’s hospital. I can also vouch for the nice Catholic boys at Villanova. You should get in with your stats.

I don’t live far and have been there many times. You cannot go wrong with that school.

thanks so much!

Emory has an active Catholic community and its Woodruff School of Nursing is essentially auto admit for students who maintain passing grades in their courses. As an added bonus, Oxford College, Emory’s two year liberal arts college 38 miles from the main campus, has somewhat easier standards of admission and could be an excellent option for a student who wants both a LAC and university.

You may also want to consider Pepperdine, which is not too far from home and has Greek Life. It also has an active religious community and fairly nice people
