My top two colleges are Cornell (I think I will apply ED) and BU. I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on other colleges that I might be interested in? I like the size, academics of both of them. I don't mind being in a city or small town, but I would prefer not too rural.

Take a look at the Patriot League schools. They are all relatively small (3-4000 students) and are among the oldest and most prestigious in the nation. They are located in the Northeast as well. The Patriot League - Official Athletic Site

Cornell and BU have completely different feels.

If the only common factors that you like are size and academic strength, that doesn't narrow down the search much.

Cornell: UVA; Boston Univ.: Syracuse, Tulane, U. of Miami & G.W.U.

Have you been to these schools? My neice was fascinated with BU, but when she actually visited it, did a 180 and started looking at smaller, less urban schools. BU is a great place, but it's not for everyone.

PS, she had the same reaction to Cornell -- thought she would love it, visited it, took it off her list.

I agree with Ford1998. I love Boston but not thrilled with the campus of BU. Way too urban and not a lot of character. I also could not imagine spending winters in Ithaca, NY. No cosmopolitan city within 3-4 hours. End of story.
