so wen i applied to u of t i didnt really have any intentions of going there so i just randomly chose new college... and now i actually wanna go there and i researched and found out that new college's residences were built in the 60's =S
but i heard from someone that one of their residences is new... is this true? what is the nicest residence? i heard woodsworth is... and is living in chestnut that bad?

Trinity is the most prestigious college at UofT. That's all I know.

I'm an Australian coming across to U of T for exchange in August, and IMO University College looks pretty spectacular: nice buildings, reputation, community-spirited etc.

But I'm a grad student so I can't apply there. I'm trying to figure out whether I should go to Graduate House (too staid, too ugly?), one of the co-ops (too small?) or Chestnut (too expensive!)...

They all, also, have good sides, but the decisions are tough.

If anyone can help me out too, that'd be great. Flyguy, maybe check out the pages for each college on Wikipedia; at least it'll offer a different perspective from the official pages.

Does anyone else know where to find more info though?

We're not allowed to link to blogs here but you might want to have a look at the utoronto livejournal community. You can post and ask any questions you might have about the school there, and, more than likely, get the answers you need.

onetwothreefour, are you going to be here for the entire year? I'm not sure, as a grad student, you would really want to be in res with undergrads. :) Have you thought about maybe looking for an apt or house with roommates? Often, those kinds of postings are on the utoronto lj community, people looking for roommates. Best of luck to you! I hope you enjoy Toronto!

Hey flyguy we're on the same boat. I didn't give much thought into U of T and then got admitted to New College and am going this fall. What's your intended major? Btw, It's true that NC was built in the 60s, but compared with the rest of the colleges that were mostly built in the 1800s, it's pretty new :)

hey jeff. im doing BCom. you? i just hope i get the new residence building within NC.
