Collegetown Apartments

Whats are the best places to live in collegetown? Some friends and I are planning to live in collegetown next year and I've heard we should start signing leases soon.
Any suggestions for the cheapest/nicest apartments? Whats the process for getting the best ones?
So far, I've looked at 312 college ave and aces apartments.
Thanks for the help.

Take a look at this chart:
http://www.campuslife.cornell.edu/campuslife/housing/upload/AptListingsFactsheet_2007.pdf
You should read the Off-Campus housing info thoroughly before signing anything. http://www.campuslife.cornell.edu/campuslife/housing/off-campus-housing.cfm
Also, before you sign a lease, you should have your parents, or someone saavy read it first. OCHO will review your lease for no charge if you are a Cornell student.
312 is a great building - terrific location, very luxurious, underground parking, etc. but not cheap!

Just make sure you read the lease as Tahoe has said. Once you sign in many cases that's it. Make sure the people you will be living with you are committed also. If one drops out you must find the replacement in many of the leases and that can be difficult. You will still be responsible for the expenses of all that were originally signed up. If a friend drops out he or she must sublet it but in our case if that person is not responisble or just skips town it is a headache. The apt complex in our case didn't care what was going on. It wasn't our fault. Also there seemed to be alot of pressure to sign in the fall for the following year. Sign now or you will have nothing. There are always ads everywhere for housing however if you want a certain number of people living with you it can be difficult but not impossible. Also if you are thinking on pledging a frat or sorority in the spring you may want to live in the house so think about all your options and don't rush into anything. That's my advice from experience. good luck.

are all the rooms in 312 singles or can we share?

I believe they are all singles, but you should call the renting agent for 312.

312 is very very expensive but nice. a lot of people there are rich international students who can afford the place

any other place thats nice and cheap besides eddygate?

does 301 college ave have a website?

thanks.

the company own three buildings in collegetown.

how was aces Phat?

it seems too cheap to be true. haha

227 linden is pretty nice and cheaper than 312 college

is there a website for 227 linden? or 301 college ave?

http://avramisrealestate.com/apartment_pages/227linden.htm

it doesn't really give you a great idea of what the apartments look like, though.

407 college is nice, same rental place as eddygate.

collegetown plaza is not too bad

also 305 eddy, and apartments above starbucks only have 1 and 2 bedroom apts, the 3-9 that they have on the sign are a crappier apt building on linden, but the ones above starbucks are really nice, fully furnished

the nicest apartments are 400 college (only 1 and 2 brms) and 227 linden (both have wood floors), but linden is farther away. 312 and 407 are the next best. 407 is owned by the same people as eddygate which is prob one of the nicer after that. 319 college ave is nice and owned by avramis.

yea 312 is owned by friend's parents definitely not cheap i heard some foreign ambasador's kids live there

i would go for a house with singles inside if you are lookig for cheap

parents own a few

bump.

any of those prices affordable? and are all the rooms in 224 linden, or any of the places mentioned single? i would think its cheaper to share a room with someone.

I don't know if this would sound obvious or not, but did you check www.ithaca.craigslist.org? I found tons of stuff on there for the summer; maybe there are a few places available during the school year as well?

227 is all singles...I don't think most landlords let you share rooms

eddygate and 407 say you can share rooms to save money.
