Collegevine

Has anybody used collegevine for their student?

We tried Collegevine for about a month and after just about losing our minds we left with a full refund. Our lead on the team of two was disorganized and unresponsive, their system that helps identify appropriate schools is severely flawed. They also neither understood the UC system or the intricacies of applying to an arts major. I do not recommend this service. Save yourself the money and aggravation.

Stay away from them. We paid and the “mentor” did not show up for meetings, when asked questions, we were told “google it”. Also read the contract, they only refund us 80%. Such a waste of money and time.

@DC94904 how did you get full refund? They only gave us 80%. Given the poor service, we really need get 100% back, not to mention the time my child wasted on waiting for the meetings – 4 no-shows. Any help / insight you can offer is highly appreciated!

I would like to know how their refunds work. We are currently waiting on ours. Same story. Higly incompetent mentors and frequent cancellations! Waste of time and money!

@smagmit We only get 80% back. I just gave up on reasoning more with them, after so many back-and-forth, I decided it is not even worth my time to try to get the 20% anymore.

Glad we didn’t opt for CollegeVine. I thought using elite college students was too good to be true.

I am so sorry I didn’t get back to you. Honestly I just complained. I gave them a step by step outline of everything that went wrong and they offered up the 100% refund.

@DC94904 thanks. I did the same, but only got 80%. Guess there are more asking for refund, they started getting harder. I eventually gave up.
