Collins LLC; fit or no?

So I keep hearing that Collins is for like the artsy type, and I kind of associate the artsy people with liberal people. I'm pretty conservative but don't think I really argue about it.. and I definitely wouldn't consider myself "artsy." I mean sure, I've been in a few theater productions and I'm interested in some film related stuff, but I don't think I fit that "band/orchestra/drama geek" steryotype that exists in high schools. I actually have more trouble connecting with kids in that group that any other group in my high school. I am however not mean at all and I'm pretty good at getting along with and adapting to people of all different types. I also heard that there's a lot of pot smoking there; I'm not into that nor do I plan to become into it.

I'm concerned that this perceived "artsiness" and drug use (I seriously dont really know anything about that) at Collins could possibly make me feel out of place. Do you think it's going to be an issue? Are there any "normal" (for lack of a better word) people living there?

I would stay out of it then. I live in Collins, and i’m not an artsy person…so i don’t really mingle with anyone in Collins, also Collins is known as the weird dorm, and there are a lot eccentric people live here. Leaving next year for a house.

cody im in the exact same situation u are in. i really don’t want a ton of people trying to impose their self-expressive tendencies on me. The eccentric drama student attempting anything for attention is not what i want to be associated with. I also want to party and have a good time, but not live in an animal house (mcnutt).

Just FYI re: “band/orchestra/drama” comment - it’s SOUTHEAST that has the performing arts theme…N’est ce pas?

Sounds like a Southeast maybe Central fit based on stereotypes. Good luck in your decision process!

If you are in Business…I would highly recommend the Kelley Living and Learing Center (in McNutt). Very social group (business types can’t help it)… BUT not the hard partying type that you refer to.

It was very quiet on my son’s floor and a great group of people. This year they put all the KLLC in McNutt-Crone. The whole dorm was very dedicated business students.

Do you know if the collins llc consists of mostly freshman?

Collins is very famous for its kindness to weed. Walk around and you’ll know what I mean.
