Colorado Boulder Class of 2022 EA and Regular Acceptances Stats??

About to become a HS senior and CU Boulder is my first choice. I currently have a 3.4 GPA and haven’t taken my SAT or ACTs yet. ANY stats can give me a better idea on my chances rather than the old 2013 forums I’m reading!!!

This is the 2017 average profile for students admitted to CU, it will be lower for Arts and Sciences and higher for Business and Engineering (much higher for engineering, the average last year was an ACT 32)

Yes I’ve seen the online stats on the website and everywhere else it is but have you yourself been accepted in CU Boulder (or any other CO universities honestly) with Stats??

If you haven’t taken any tests yet, you are going to be in the RD round. It is more difficult to get in with lower gpa the longer you wait. Stats aren’t everything, but they do count.

Nephew with a 3.5/27 ACT from a very hard high school was accepted to engineering in the fall. Friend’s son with a 3.1/34 ACT was NOT accepted to engineering but was accepted to A&S and the honors college two years ago. Both instate. Most of the students I know who attend are from very top high schools, and have high stats. If you are from the Western Slope you might have a better chance with lower stats.

Do you think if I EA it would increase my chances from RD? Im from NY and Im currently taking SAT/ACT tutoring sp it looks like I should get around a 1300 on the SAT and around a 27 ACT score. Thanks for your help!

Which school/major are you trying to get into? Engineering. A&S…

A&S

I’m not sure you can apply in the first round unless you have scores, or maybe I should say your app won’t be considered until it is complete. They need a score. A few years ago, most kids heard during Thanksgiving week if they applied early in the fall. Last year it seemed to be a little later than that. I think my nephew heard from A&S and then a few days later from Engr during Thanksgiving week.

3.4 GPA, OOS, with a 27 on your ACT will very likely get you into A&S, but that will not get you any merit money so you would be full pay.

My daughter is class of 2022, OOS, GPA 3.86 (unweighted), 31 ACT. She was accepted to A&S honors and awarded the Chancellor’s scholarship during the EA round. I agree with other posters that your stats are low to get merit money.

I’m in the class of 2022, I applied early action with (at the time) a 3.35 GPA and 1250 on SAT and 26 on ACT in Political Science and History (College of A&S). I highly suggest taking the SAT or ACT before you apply, CU does like seeing those like most state schools. I didn’t have any extracurriculars, but I had a job of almost 2 years (Starbucks) and had done volunteering on political campaigns. CU loves good essays and thinking outside of the box so utilize that especially if your stats aren’t super super high! I didn’t receive any up-front merit money but in January when I got my decision I applied for other scholarships and got some good ones. Good luck!
