Colorado College vs. Bowdoin College

I'm currently a freshman at Boston College and am almost certain that I'll be transferring to another school for the upcoming fall semester. My biggest issue with Boston College is the general atmosphere of the student body. While, on the outside, the students seem to truly be "Men and Women for Others," the actuality of the matter could not be more the opposite. The "BC Bubble" is absolutely a thing, and I've found that an incredibly significant portion of the student body feigns any real interest in what goes on around it.

That being said, Boston College is a lot like my hometown (something I didn't look into nearly enough upon enrolling), and I'm looking for a significant change in atmosphere. I've been accepted to both Colorado College and Bowdoin College as of now, but I'm still waiting to hear back from Middlebury and Wesleyan.

My biggest concern is making the same mistake I made the first time around, choosing a school based on prestige and not the things that really matter. I know that Bowdoin is a great school, but I don't really know enough about the school to make an informed decision. Because of the late decisions and my current workload, I haven't been able to visit either school, but I'd like to get a feel for how Bowdoin works on the inside.

Please comment quickly(if possible) and without reserve, for the deadline for Colorado is fast approaching. Thank you so much!

Since your question is about the schools rather than the transfer process, you might consider posting on the College Search & Selection forum as you will get more views there.

A valid point. Thanks!

My brother attends colorado college pre-med and he absolutely loves it. Snowboarding, Breckenridge, Truly intensive one course per month, and not nearly as cold as Maine. Its a quickly rising school in terms of awareness outside of California, Colorado, and the west coast.
