I'm pretty confused guys... I got accepted at both Connecticut College and Colorado College. Which one would you say is better? I plan on majoring in Economics and German. I am interested in the academic part more, but also in social life, study abroad, and anything else that would make one of the colleges seem more appealing. Please give me some advice. Thanks a lot!

i dont know much about colorado coll, but im a recent conn college alum so i can help you with that:
conn has phenomenal study abroad programs, a top notch econ department, a small but strong german department, and a very high quality of life. there are many unique facets to conn, but something worth noting is that the career services is absolutely terrific- the summer after your junior year they will set you up with a paid internship anywhere in the world with the possibility of doing anything you want, with a stipend- something that prospective econ majors should be very interested in! due to these networking possibilities, econ students get very good jobs after graduation, not to mention the sheer numbers of students overall who go off to top grad schools.

students work hard but play hard and are passionate about a wide variety of topics which always makes for nights where you stay up talking to your friends until dawn. the campus is beautiful, 10 minutes from the beach, and there are TONS of things always going on. for the times you want to do some exploring, you are only 2 hours from nyc, 90 minutes to boston, 40 minutes to providence and 40 minutes to new haven, which provides you with so many options.
there is a very strong sense of community (98% of students live on campus all 4 years), and people are very proud to be camels.

if you want more specifics, i'll be happy to tell you anything you could ever want to know!

Colorado College is unique in that it has a block system where you take one course at a time. If you applied, I'm sure you know that. A know a kid who is a soph there, and he loves it. The social life is great, and you can get to ski resorts, hiking etc. easily.

Academically, these schools are very comparable with possibly a slight edge to Conn College. If you planned to live on the east coast of the U.S. after school, I would also say an edge to Conn College; otherwise, I would decide mostly based on fit.

I would definitely go to Conn College.
