well both are great for environmental science but Whitman has the Semester In The West program

Yes, that does sound like a fun program. Recently I emailed a CC EnviSci professor and got an auto-reply that he was off for a week in the field with a group of students. So I think interesting adventures happen there too, but within the framework of the shorter “blocks” not semesters.

No stopping anyone from applying to both schools. Visit both, see what clicks and how the admissions and aid process plays out.

pierre, you must be the most biased person i’ve heard. onthefly, take what this person is saying with a grain of salt. of course, im applying to CC ED. You really cant beat the outdoors in the rockies, just saying. Whitman is definitely not superior in this sense. Also, i was originally going to apply to whitman, but i decided not to partly because nobody on the east coast has heard of it. its reputation is exceptional on the west, but out here, nothing. CC isnt much better, but the block plan is what attracted me. That should be your deciding factor.

Note the dates of this old thread. Onthefly went to UT Austin.
