It really depends on your major. Mines really only offers majors in fields like ChemE, PetroE, and General Engineering. So if you were wanting Civil, Mechanical, Aero, etc. A&M would obviously be a better choice. I don’t think going to Mines will hinder your grad school chances at a top program though.

If you have any questions about A&M Engineering feel free to PM me. I’m a sophomore AeroE at A&M.

Hmm thanks for everyone’s thoughts on this matter
I got a financial aid grant from CSM making it even a few grand less than instate tuition so the cost for me to go there is just about the same as staying in Texas so I’ve decided to go:) I’m extremely happy about this decision. Since I found out I could go 5 days ago I’ve actually been happy again - as opposed to the very morose mood I had been in my 3week period of trying to convince myself to go to A&M. I’m sure a lot of people love A&M and it’s a great school and I would have been “okay” there but I am glad that I can afford my first choice school and head off to Colorado this fall :)

i am wondering which school have better petroleum engineering? or is that same??
does student grad from Mines also easy to find job ?? thank you

Texas A&M is better than Mines because their career services program is God like…End of Story. Always remember, Its all about what companies come to the school to hire graduating students, unless you are going to school strictly for knowledge and don’t intend on working after you graduate.
