My daughter has just been admitted to Colorado State. We currently lives in the Midwest in a big city. Does anyone have any opinion of CSU? Would it be a big transition for a sophisticated urban girl? Thanks.

I like CSU. Ft. Collins is a great place - not what I would call sophisticated or urban, perhaps, but definitely not a sleepy small town either.

Our daughter was also accepted. We are out of state and so we decieded to take her for a campus tour. Of all the colleges we toured mainly in the northeast this school was her least favorite. To her, it felt rural like and the campus didnt give her a feeling of school spirit. This past summer we did a 7 school search backeast and that is where her heart is and where she will ultimately decide to go. Since your daughter is an urban type gal. This school has a very “outdoorsy” type feeling…not bad, but if she may prefer onen of her choices a lot more.

I was very impressed with CSU and Ft. Collins. It is somewhat like Boulder but with less traffic. It is a very outdoorsy area, but I don’t get a rural feeling. It’s Colorado! Most people love Colorado, but it certainly isn’t New York City.
