It seems as if there are much more CC applicants than SEAS ones.
Am I correct or being too quick to make an assumption?

its always that way- cc gets more than seas

just look at last year's stats, CC has more than 3 times the applicants (ED) than SEAS. it just the way it is since SEAS is much more specialized.

people! let's keep it up!

14-2 .... lol

Hi there!

I'm actually a Princeton ED-er, but I'm having a hard time deciding between CC and SEAS. Since ED-ers tend to be a passionate bunch, maybe you can nudge toward one or the other.

Major Factors:

Chemical Engineering or Chemistry? I'd love both, and I think I may be able to get more "into" the deeper pure chemistry stuff in Chem than I would in ChemE. On the other hand, I would (???) be able to put ChemE into more practical use as a physician, one career path that I'm considering. It also allows me a sort of "way out" if I discover that medicine isn't for me.

GPA: Engineering students overall tend to have lower GPAs than Arts and Sciences majors... so even though I'm not a stats-whore, grad school is still very important to me.

4-1/3-2 Programs: Not interested. I want to finish four wonderful years of undergrad in four years and then go on to grad school, because even though I love learning like you can't believe, the sad truth is that staying in college an extra year does tend to mess with career/marriage/family building opportunities a bit. sigh

check out the columbia core requirments, if you dont mind doing the humanities classes for the first two years, then CC would be better for you (GPA, chem) but if you want to take less humanities courses and dont mind the engineering cores then SEAS would be better.
from what you posted above I get the sense that you would belong in CC more but I think the core courses could be a big factor for you.

Thanks, Lynda! I think you're probably right; CC. Anyone else?
