Columbia 2015 hopefuls

ED to CC, Classics and European History Major (May do Chemistry and Astronomy, not sure yet.)

I’ve lately decided that I want to do linguistics in college, but apparently Columbia doesn’t have a linguistics major. It does have something called a “concentration”, which I’m probably going to do if I get accepted.

Bottom line, I’m applying RD, for a major in German and a concentration in Linguistics.

applying probably RD !!! So cool just writing this statement lol

I’m pretty sure I’ll apply RD to CC- I want to major in biochemistry and probably go premed, but I love the humanities and the Core is very appealing!

Isn’t it weird to think that in a few months we’re applying to college? Gosh! lol.
Haha; and hey again, fledgling! Looks like you’re my competition everywhere! :)

^ Hi  Haha, I’m flattered that you think that but I honestly don’t have much to offer in terms of competition… :D

Another 2015 hopeful here, for CC! There’s like a hell’s chance of me getting in but of well.

International student here. ED’ing at either Dartmouth or Columbia! :)

If you don’t mind me asking, why Dartmouth and Columbia? I don’t see many similarities between the two lol.

Probably going to apply RD, Econ & IR or Econ & Comp Sci.

So I’ve been thinking about this for a while… I may potentially not be applying after all. I like everything about Columbia, but the problem is that it doesn’t offer my intended major. Oh well. Good luck to all the rest of you hopefuls anyway! wistful smile

@Jersey13:

Dartmouth is known to be really good with financial aid. And, since i’ll be needing aid, it’s definitely one of my top choices. Beside the whole FA issue, however, I am more interested in Columbia.

After going back and forth for a while, I think I still might apply after all. Although my prospective major is almost certainly Linguistics (with an emphasis on computational linguistics), I’ll still throw in an app just in case I end up changing my mind at some point. Class of 2015, let’s rock!

Woot! Canadian here applying RD come this fall!

I’m not totally sure I want to ED, but Columbia’s on my list. Core sounds fantastic from everyone who’s taken it so I’m willing to give it a show even though I’m not really humanities centered. Anyone else iffy on the Core? Thoughts?

I’m not sure if I want to apply ED, but Columbia is definitely one of my top choices. I’m an international, and I think I want to apply SEAS, not sure yet (:

I can’t believe that our apps are going to be due in only a few months! Time sure has flown by…

I am definitely applying to CC, likely ED. Loved the campus and the atmosphere when I visited, I will certainly be happy there. I am currently trying to get exposure to other schools to make sure that CC is the one.

I’m applying early decision as an architecture major… so excited! I love Columbia and New York City.

I’ll likely be applying RD to SEAS for Mechanical or Biomedical. Not my 1st choice but definitely up there.

Most likely going to ED at Columbia, but I’m not that confident about being admitted. Hopefully they need soccer players that year lol. Also, I’m kind of confused about the application. I know they are switching to the Common App this year, but I thought you would still need to do a supplementary app also, and I haven’t heard anyone mention it or seen it on Columbia’s website…
