So for all of you that were accepted in multiple Ivy’s, how many may not go to Columbia to free up spots for the waitlisters?
@ambkeegan I’m giving up my spot
Yeah, what is your intended major? Anyone know the number on the waitlist and if they usually have spots to fill?
@ambkeegan engineering
@ambkeegan I don’t think I’ll be attending either, but for the record, I don’t think I’ll be attending another Ivy. I think I’ll be going to Swarthmore.
Waitlisted! Was not expecting that so it was very exciting
GPA- 3.89,4.16 ACT-33, 34 SS, many hours of dance/week but no other ECs, dance supplement, great interview, great recs APs: three 3s and a 4
@londonvall which schools are you strongly considering? and congrats on all your acceptances
Anyone know how many were waitlisted this year?
Also I got waitlisted without an interview… I’m from the suburbs of a big city and would assume that there are plenty of interviewers nearby… any ideas why I never received an opportunity for an interview and if this impacted my eventual waitlist?
Waitlisted
GPA- 3.8 (on an American scale but I am the valedictorian of my class), 4.4 when I was an exchange student in the U.S.,
ACT: 30
SAT: 1400
no interview
several extracurriculars
I did not even expect a place on the waitlist so I am extremely positively surprised.
@collegecrazy2017 Its possible that the interviewers available were closer to other applicants, or interviewed applicants from a familiar high school, etc. The interview most likely did not contribute to your waitlist, and has almost no impact on decisions. It’s more of a way for the applicant to ask an alumni questions and learn more about the school. I know multiple people, including myself, who received likely letters or were admitted without having an interview.
@EinsteinCurie Thank you! I haven’t officially committed yet, but Harvard will be my choice. So this will open up a spot at Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, UC Boulder, and depending on how things go today, maybe Stanford
Waitlisted, but I got into Yale
Waitlisted but accpeted to Penn as a Vagelos Scholar!!!
The Columbia acceptance letter came so fast!
@takacatboy are you an engineering major?
@collegecrazey my son had a great interview with a Harvard alumni and he didn’t get in
@ambkeegan Nope. I applied undecided to CAS.
WL with 1570 SAT and 4.0GPA… anyone know about the chances of getting in from the WL?
The acceptance package is beautiful!
