Hi all,
I am a high school senior interested in a computer science major at Brandeis and I am interested in Columbia's guaranteed admission to Fu for students who meet their prerequisites. I understand most students who plan on doing this don't follow through, but I feel I'm self motivated enough to be able to drive myself to meet the requirements. My question is how hard is it to maintain a 3.3 gpa while at Brandeis in CS and how many of the courses align with the required courses. Would the extra amount of courses be ridiculous or would it be manageable. Thanks

What would your intended major at Columbia be?

Note that Columbia does not promise as good financial aid for transfers (including 3+2 transfers) as it does for frosh.

<a href=“Combined Plan Applicants | Columbia Undergraduate Admissions”>http://undergrad.admissions.columbia.edu/apply/combined-plan describes the admission criteria for Columbia for 3+2 students. Note that the 3.30 GPA minimum is for both overall and pre-engineering courses, and all math and science courses must be completed with a B (3.0) on the first attempt (i.e. if you get a single B- or lower grade in a math or science course, then you will not get “guaranteed” admission). Three favorable recommendations are also required, so “guaranteed” admission is not just courses and grades based.

Thanks my intended major would likely be computer engineering or something of the like. Would these classes align favorably enough to were it is doable?

Check the requirements of the major at Columbia with the courses you will take at Brandeis.

can anyone that has completed the program describe how it was? how many classes did u have to take per semester? how difficult was it? would you do it again?
Good luck finding someone. Online the number of students total accepted at Columbia is reported as around 150. Engineers obviously make up only a fraction of that number.
