So I was wondering if participating in a lot of honor societies, lots I community service, and a medical internship, with a 2300 on the SATs on the first time would be enough to get into Columbia? And a 4.2 weighted GPA. Its 3.8 unweighted.

A LOT of people do those things and some don’t get in. You have to show them something unique that not every Columbia applicant has done. Or make sure your essays are really strong.
Please chance me?

Btw I’m not sure which but I’m applying ED or EA to Columbia

I agree with snowinchicago.

Based on the info you gave, your acceptance seems possible, but you really need to stand out. Everyone applying to Columbia is going to have the same (if not better) scores/ECs, so it really depends on how you present yourself.

If you can get the admission officer to remember you, you have a very good chance of getting in.

Ok so I forgot to add NYU to this! Also about passion and interest. I’m all about music, with about 6 years of choral instruction. I’m seriously into neuroscience and want to be a pediatric neurosurgeon. That’s why I got an internship under the pediatric neurosurgeon at the children’s national medical center. Does that help too? And my single mom makes around 35.000 a year so I was wondering if the notoriously stingy NYU would offer any need bases scholarships.
