So apparently Columbia doesn't have score choice, and wants to see all my SAT scores from all my tests...but I'm worried because I did really really REALLY bad on some subject tests..390 on German and 530 on US History :(
I did better on my Literature (730) and Math II (610), and those are the tests that I'm sending out to the schools that have score choice. Will the really bad scores affect my chances of getting in? Unfortunately, standardized testing isn't my strongest suit (best on SAT I is 1950), so I'm worried enough as it is. Anybody have any insight/experience with this? I haven't sent the scores yet.

Unfortunately for you, they will see your entire score history.

On the Columbia application itself, you should list your two highest scores, but other than that you have no control over your situation.

Good luck.

This is not a legitimate excuse, especially not for poor performance on Subject Tests. Practice more.
If you take German and U.S. History again, and show appreciable improvement, that is the best way to redeem yourself.

I wasn’t using it as an excuse. I just shouldn’t have taken the US History and German tests because I obviously was nowhere near as prepared as I should’ve been. And there’s no point in me retaking them, because I have to send everything in by January 4, and I also can’t just learn German grammar or specific points in US History that was never covered in any of my classes.
