Has anyone tried to contact Columbia? Do you just dial 212-854-2522 and then press *2?

I had a question, I’m an international student who applied to Columbia and I just noticed that on my tracking system, it shows that the Application Fee as “Not Received”. I have applied for a fee waiver so is the app fee field supposed to show something like “Fee Waiver Requested” or something like that, or does “Not Received” now means that my waiver request has been rejected or something.?

Normally when you are using a fee waiver and they received it it is write “fee waiver pending” or something like that I think that in your case they simply didn’t received anything … Call them

Could someone answer my question please? The representatives don’t pick up the phone and I just want to make sure that I am doing it the right way.

But its really odd they didn’t receive anything at all, I had fee waiver requests for almost all of my other choices and they all had acknowledged about my waiver request. I have emailed Columbia about this and I’m awaiting their response now.

I tried calling once and waited for about 4 minutes before I hung up and called some other schools. I called Columbia about 10 minutes later and someone picked up soon enough. Try again and you’ll eventually get through.

Are our applications going to be automatically rescinded if the missing materials don’t arrive by next Monday?

The website said that “You will have ample time to send us any missing items” as per their recent update here http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/admissions/node/777/lightbox2

But the email I received from Columbia notifying me of the missing materials says that “Materials must be received by Monday, February 21, 2011.”

I just faxed the common app and supplement yesterday and the status changed to received. So I’m assuming you should just do that if you have the same problem.

^I faxed mine yesterday as well. Too bad it is still listed as “not yet received/processed”.

got the email that they don’t have the two teacher recs. The 2 teachers sent it by regular mail at different times, so how can they be missing both of them? I guess the record number of applicants threw them off.

Same thing happened with Ds app. They said they were missing recs that were mailed. Her GC faxed them for us.

oh noes i checked and they don’t have my SAT scores, what should I do???
call or email? I prefer email, because I get jittery if I talk :(

^Calling is better. Make sure you wait at least 15 minutes before hanging up the phone.

It could mean that they haven’t received your request or that it hasn’t been approved. Most likely, it’s the second.

I applied for a waiver too, and it says “Waived” at the lines labelled “application fee”.

Hope this helps

@skeriss – Thanks for the help, I have submitted the fee now, and I’m awaiting for Columbia to acknowledge and update it on the tracking system, its a weekend in US I believe, so I may have to wait till Monday for it.

I don’t even know where to go for the application status check. Did you guys get login information and other details in some email? I looked through my entire email inbox and trash and I can’t find any email from Columbia. How do you access the tracking system?

^Call them ASAP.

^ Sorry nevermind, I found the email, lol.
