Columbia Business Management Concentration - B-school and ugrad collaboration

I am passing this information on to prospective students, but also hoping some validation as it does sound slightly fishy to me (i haven't read the actual email that supposedly went out and the link to the application doesn't seem like something columbia would do). It appears from the bwog that Columbia is starting up a business management special concentration, an apply for concentration, but the first official foray into a business major for Columbia in nearly 50 years since it canned its BS from the b-school.

If true this is not a surprise to me, there were rumblings about a potential special concentration for business and journalism since my time at Columbia, and though most folks maybe didn't know that (and will perhaps see this as a shock), I suspected it may come for some time. The general movement Columbia is going is not to replace its undergraduate liberal arts tinge, but rather to showcase more and more collaborations across schools. Hence the limited nature (capped to 20 students at first) of this new major. This is a collaboration that in the 90s could have never happened; it says a lot about the changing culture of CU.
