Columbia Chances Please? Grateful. :)

Hello! I am a junior planning to apply Early Decision to Columbia in the fall. I really appreciate any feedback you have!

GPA: 3.725 UW. School does not weight
Rank: 17 (1,2,3,3,3,6,etc.) of 359
SAT score: Results in 11 days, but practices ranged 2070-2300
SATII: Literature 730, US History 720, Math 700

I have taken all the AP classes and Honors/Advanced courses my crappy high school offers. I took two sciences this past year. I am also taking three college courses this year. Unfortunately no word on AP scores.

EC's:
-Yearbook photo editor
-Texas Book Festival short story contest winner (150+ apps)
-Chamber of Commerce Literature Essay, 1st runner up (250+ apps)
-UIL Feature Writing and Literary Criticism regional qualifier
-Sunday School pre-K teacher, Bible study leader in the community
-Over 200 hours of volunteer work recorded throughout high school
-National Honor Society, service committee chair 2 yrs
-Leo Club member (service organization) 3 yrs
-UIL Speech and Debate competitor
-Guest columnist for the local newspaper
-Theatre troupe: Sound technician 3 yrs
-Founded student-run literary journal published monthly

I am planning to major in Creative Writing and Film Studies. I have many creative writing samples with which I won awards to send in a portfolio. Killer essays and a rec from an AP Lit teacher who loves me(literally). Rec from my AP Chem teacher (Chem was my lowest grade) explaining that I try to the absolute best of my abilities. I had a bad sophomore year and there is currently a 79 on my transcript, but that will be replaced with my(better!) AP Calculus grade next year.

Thank you again for helping me. :)
*Excuse any spelling errors. My keyboard recently had a run-in with a huge cup of coffee. ;)

i think you’ve got a great shot. your grades and scores are where they need to be, i’d say. just gotta wait and see on your upcoming scores.

your extracurriculars are fantastic. if i were you, i’d keep going! keep writing and sending your work to contests and such and see what happens.
your ec’s demonstrate that you’re the kind of person that columbia wants (in my opinion, at least - and not that mine really means much lol).

anyway, keep up the work and do very well next year. good luck.

You have great numbers (counting on solid a solid SAT I). Apply and put your all into your essays! I think Columbia would be a great fit for you, and I hope to see you next year!

As long as your SAT scores are as high as you expect them to be, then I think you have a very high chance of getting.
